Healing support: Fundraiser helps accident victims

Hundreds of people gathered in Montgomery on Friday for a fundraiser to help two people who were struck by a wrong-way driver last month.
TCU graduates Kylie Maxa and Leonardo “Leo” Herrera-Lara felt the love and support on November 12 when family, friends and members of the TCU Dance Team held a fundraiser for them following a car accident on October 6.
Maxa, 18, of Montgomery, and Herrera-Lara, 19, of Le Center, are recovering from an accident when their vehicle was hit head-on in Lonsdale last month. Both were taken by air ambulance to HCMC after their vehicle was struck on Highway 19 at 70th Street West shortly after 4 p.m.
The “Warrior Benefit” was held at the Revival on Main and Rustic Farmer by the TCU Dance Team and fellow Licensed Childcare Providers in Scott and Rice counties. Maxa works for a...
