More than 700 names were read in the Roll Call of Deceased Veterans" by Ed Keogh, V.F. W. National Deputy Chief of Staff, Second District V.F.W. Commander and Commander V.F.W. Post 5340, and Corey Kotek, Commander American Legion Post 79 & Quartermaster V.F.W. Post 5340.

Ret. Army Sgt. Keith Deutsch was the featured speaker at the event. He spoke about hearing the “call of destiny,” when he joined the Army immediately after graduating from New Prague High School in 2002.

“Today, we remember those who gave their lives in armed service to our country. They died on beaches; they died in deserts, they died in certain and definite misery.
