Area Fourth of July celebrations

Area residents looking for ways to celebrate the Fourth of July, there are several options.

New Prague will have fireworks the evening of Sunday, July 3, east of New Prague Middle School. The American Legion Post 45 Park Ballroom and Jeff Belzer’s are sponsoring the fireworks show. Before the fireworks people can get treats from Dawgs on the Run, Kona Ice and Cookie Dough Bliss. Linda Fahrenkamp will sing the National Anthem to begin the show, with fireworks at 10 p.m.

The Elko Speedway at Elko New Market will have an Eve of Destruction capping off with fireworks on Saturday evening, July 2. Before the fireworks there will be monster trucks, a Mega Jump, the return of the Jet Truck and several other races.

Elysian will have its Fourth of July celebration beginning on Thursday, June 30, and going through Monday, July 4. Events include the Miss Elysian, Junior Miss, and Princess of the Lakes Pageant, the Car, Truck, Rat Rod, Motorcycle, and Tractor Show, the Lake Francis Boat Parade and the Grande Parade.

The 129th Annual North Morristown 4th of July Celebration will be held Monday, July 4, which is the oldest 4th of July celebration in the state. There will be the Big Parade along with the Kiddie and Pet Parade, plus many other events through the day, which ends with fireworks.

The Prior Lake Association will host its Boat Parade and a Fireworks Display on the Fourth of July. Also that day there will be fireworks at Valleyfair near Shakopee.
