Four DRS teams advance to Class C State Tourney

The Region 3C Amateur Baseball Tournament came to an end Sunday, August 14 with the championship game.

Once the dust settled, four teams from the Dakota Rice Scott (DRS) league will be representing the Region at the Class A State Tournament.

St. Patrick is the No. 1 seed from the Region after defeating Montgomery 7-1 in the championship Sunday. Union Hill edged Webster 4-3 in the third place game Saturday, Aug. 13.

St. Patrick will be making their 18th State appearance and fifth straight. They placed second in 2020. The Irish will play the winner of the Urbank vs. Sartell winner on Friday, Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Faribault.

Montgomery making their fifth state appearance and first since 2016, will open Class C State Tourney action Saturday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. against Elrosa, the No. 3 seed from Region 15.

Union Hill, making its 18th State appearance and third straight, will play Sunday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. in Faribault against Region 7 runnerup Waconia.

Webster, making their first-ever State appearance, will play their opening round game Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at Dundas against Region 13 runner-up Milroy.

All Class C games are played in either Faribault or Dundas.
