Orioles sink Lakers, 7-zip

Scoring two runs in the fourth, seventh and eighth inning, the New Prague Orioles thumped Faribault, 7-0, Sunday, June 4, in New Prague.
The Orioles faced a tall task to start the game facing former major league pitcher and Faribault native Jake Petricka.  Petricka was tough only giving up two hits and striking out seven Orioles through five innings of work. The Orioles pounded out nine hits in the win. Jacob Mader, James Fuerniss and Spencer Kajer all drove in two runs for the O’s. Tom McBroom and Anthony Mader also drove in a run each. Aiden Dorzinski and Fuerniss were the lone NP hitters with multiple hits in a balanced attack.
New Prague was able to get a couple of runs off Petricka in the fourth inning when Gavin Bergman walked and Fuerniss reached on errors. With the infield up, Kajer delivered a big hit to drive in both runs.  The O’s would tack on another run in the sixth when McBroom knocked in Bergman on a fielder’s choice.  Fuerniss and Mader would both deliver two-run doubles later in the game.
Jayce Luna started the game going three innings and striking out five. Sam Baker came on in relief and finished the game pitching six innings and striking out nine.
Nate Rost, Joey Grote, Aiden Tobiu, Jack Jandro and Petricka had the five hits for Faribault.
The win keeps New Prague’s record unblemished at 7-0 atop the always-grueling DRS
standings.

St. Patrick 4, Rochester 2
The host Irish rallied with three runs in the ninth inning, handing Rochester a royal disappointment Sunday, June 4.
Jack Taxdahl drove in two runs while Jordan Goracke and Jack Friedges drove in runs in the come-from-behind win. Ryan Friedges and Taxdahl both had two hits in a 10-hit attack.
Jack Friedges’ hit was a home run.
Irish pitchers Viktor Poinar and Trevor Divinski combined for the win. They both surrendered an earned run.

Lonsdale 11, Shakopee 6
The two teams combined for 17 runs, 22 hits and nine errors in the slugfest Sunday, June 4, in Lonsdale.
The Aces scored twice in the fourth, four times in the fifth, twice more in the sixth and t here final times in the seventh. The Coyotes, try as they might, couldn’t keep pace. They scored three times in the fifth inning and three more in the ninth.
Joseph Malecha had two hits, scored twice and drove in two RBIs for the Aces. Jack Skluzacek had two hits and three RBIs. He scored once for Lonsdale. JordanYetzer, Caden Sterling and Chad Vosejpka also drove in a run apiece for the Aces.
Four Lonsdale pitchers worked as a committee for the win.

Veseli 6, PL Mudcats 2
The Warriors used a nine-hit effort and took advantage of Prior Lake errors to claim the win Sunday, June 4, in Veseli.
The Warriors scored a run in the first and two more in the fifth. They added one in the seventh and iced the win with two runs in the eighth. Prior Lake didn’t cross the plate until the ninth inning. The Warriors outhit the Mudcats, 9-7.
Eddie Sirek had two hits and two RBIs in the win. Luke Shepard, Riley Schaeffer and Sam Gardner were credited with RBIs in the win.
Veseli pitcher Matt Perkinson wen th3 distance. He scattered seven hits but allowed only two runs.

PL Mudcats 10, Montgomery 2
The Prior Lake Mudcats traveled to Montgomery last Friday, June 2, and completely shut down the Mallards’ bats on the night, eventually breaking the game wide open with seven runs in the ninth inning, capping a 10-2 victory.
The lone runs for Montgomery didn’t come until the final frame when Ryan Iverson crossed the plate on a Tom Flicek double. The Mallards didn’t tally a hit until an infield single in the bottom of the eighth and struck out 15 times.
Despite the loss, Montgomery remains in second place in the DRS League.

Union Hill 24, Shakopee Coyotes 6
The Bulldogs bludgeoned the Coyotes June 1 in Union Hill.

New Prague 7, Belle Plaine 5
The Orioles defeated Belle Plaine in a non-league game Tuesday, May 30. The Orioles scored five runs in the first inning to get out to a lead they would keep from start to finish.
Brody Isley started the game followed by Beau Plaisance, Cam Prochaska and James Fuerniss.  They combined to just allow two earned runs while striking out 11 BP batters. Bryce Novak was the big Oriole hitter with three hits. Fuerniss had a solo home run in the fifth inning, while Jake Deutsch added a single and two RBIs on the night.
Plaisance was the winning pitcher against the boys from Tigertown.

Lonsdale 7, Union Hill 3
The Aces led throughout the May 29 tilt in Lonsdale.
Leading 3-1 in the home half of the seventh inning, Lonsdale iced the win, scoring four times. Jack Skluzacek had three hits and three RBIs in the win. Devin Vosejpka drove in two runs with one hit. Isaac Pint and Thomas Hopert both had two hits for the victors. Joe Becker and Nathan Osborne drove in runs for the Bulldogs.

Union Hill 3, Faribault 2
