NPAS honors retiring staff Bisek stepping down after 40 years at Falcon Ridge

New Prague Area Schools held its end-of-the school year celebration Friday, May 26, where it recognized its staff who were retiring.

Among the retirees were Kathy Sticha for eight years, Sheila Heinen for 14 years, Jane Dittberner for 15 years, Sharon Drazenovich and Tim Dittberner for 20 years each, Linda Sirek for 21 years, Dana Smith for 26 years and Lori Bisek for 40 years.

Lori Bisek All of Bisek’s 40 yers has been at Falcon Ridge Elementary School where she was a paraprofessional for 22 years and as a secretary for 18 years.

She said her time at the school had been great. “It was really good. I loved it all,” she added.

During her time at the school, she has worked for principals Bob Gullickson, Pat Pribyl, Barb Wilson and Dave Giesen.

She has also seen renovations to the building over the years.

“They took a lot of pride in their building,” she said.

“Working in the elementary school has been lots of fun,” Bisek said

“It’s lot of fun working with children,” said Bisek. “They get so delighted when they learn things.”

She said a lot of times the young students want to make thank you cards or draw a picture of the sun in appreciation. “They are very creative.”
