The Legion bar was open for drinks and Taco Terco was open for food in the American Legion ballroom Friday night during Tri-City United Montgomery K-6 Parent-Teacher Organization’s second annual Glow-A-Thon.
This event was sponsored by the PTO, and it was a huge success with approximately 150 people attending. PTO President Megan Duffney said, “It’s not so much a fundraiser as an event for the whole family to attend.”
It was a family affair for Angrimson family, with parents Jim and Katie and their two children, Logan, age 3, and Aiden, age 7, attending and partaking in the activities. Mother Katie said they showed up simply to “get the wiggles out.”
All children were given tickets for each item, including face painting, temporary tattoos, snacks and glow sticks. The dance floor or one of the activity stations is where most of the children could be found.
Adults found joy in watching their children and having an adult beverage from the Legion bar, food from Taco Terco, and in talking to other parents that their children or grandchildren go to school with.
Duffney says that they are hosting the End-of-Year Celebration at the TCU Montgomery Elementary School yet— a celebration on May 17. It will feature food trucks, music by Shenanigans, a soccer game, and a dunk tank where students can dunk their teachers.
