It was a near perfect performance for the New Prague/TCU/ LSJ/Belle Plaine/Jordan CI Division Adapted Floor Hockey team at the 2022 State Tournament held at Bloomington Jefferson High School March 18 and March 19.

The Trojans won their second State title. The first was in 2014. They defeated three teams at State by a total score of 35-4. They finished the year with a perfect 10-0 record.

“We felt so good to be able to get all of our kids playing time in all three State Tournament games and we are so proud of how dominant they were this weekend,” head coach Shellie Kriha said. In their Friday night quarterfinal game against South Washington County, the Trojans picked up a 12-1 win.

Dylan Raaen scored four goals and had one assist. Carter Tupy scored three goals. Aaron Adamson had three assists and two goals. Ray Parker finished with three assists and one goal. Landon Malecha stopped four of the five shots on goal.

“We started the game really slow, our kids were a little nervous to start and playing in a big gym with lots of fans kind of shell shocked us a bit. We were able to settle down after getting our first couple goals and we settled in nicely and looked like our normal selves,” Kriha said. "Our defense by Evan Minar and Trystan Seger was absolutely dominant all game, defense is what has gotten us this far and tonight it really showed how good they really are.”

Malecha recorded a shutout in goal in the 11-0 semifinal win over North Suburban Saturday afternoon. He stopped all five shots he faced.

Aaron Adamson had four goals and three assists Ray Parker and Dylan Raaen had three goals and an assist. Shane Friedrich also scored a goal.

"Saturday was a much better start, our kids came out really strong. We led 7-0 after the 1st period and completely shut them down. This was a great performance all around for our team and really set us up nicely heading into the championship. With our quick start we were able to rest all of our starters and get them prepared for the title game,” Kriha said. “I don't think many teams are prepared for the speed of our team and the strength of our defense. We were able to keep the puck in our offensive zone for about 95 percent of the time and our forwards went to work. We felt great with our team's effort and we felt this game really set us up to have a successful championship game.”

In the championship game, Dylan Raaen scored four goals and had five assists in a 12-3 win over Lakeville/Burnsville/ Farmington.

Ray Parker scored four goals and had two assists. Aaron Adamson had three goals and an assist. Evan Minar had two assists, Carter Tupy had a goal, and Trystan Seger added one assist. Landon Malecha had 18 saves on 21 shots.
