Area baseball teams in the Dakota-Rice-Scott League are off to solid starts in bids for the Minnesota Baseball Association’s state tournament beginning Aug. 21 in New Prague, Chaska, Jordan and Shakopee.

In Class A, Section 1 Sunday, Aug. 2, Elko defeated Hastings. New Market outslugged Dundas and Faribault topped Rochester.
