Wearing a seatbelt helped a man escape injury when his car rolled on Le Sueur County Road #3 in Montgomery, in the early morning hours on Thursday, Feb. 18.
According to Anne Doyle, her son, Phillip, 21 of Montgomery, was going to work at Technical Methods, Inc. in Lonsdale around 6 a.m. on the outskirts of Montgomery when another car traveling westbound on County Road 142 (dirt road) ran a stop sign and forced Phillip to slam on his brakes to avoid a crash.

A respected Czech Country supper club has become the latest victim of the COVID-19 pandemic, announcing its permanent closure on Thursday.
The Lakeside Supper Club, located on Lake Pepin on Highway 13/21 between Montgomery and New Prague, has been closed since the initial COVID-19 "stay at home" order in March last year, and will not be re-opening.
In a Facebook post to its patrons, owner George Kukacka and Catering Manager, Jayne Hirdler, made the decision with “heavy hearts and profound sadness” not to re-open.

Per Governor Walz today, effective Saturday, February 13 at noon, further steps to reopen Minnesota’s economy safely, are listed below.

That’s exactly what all students and faculty of Tri-City United will do as they return to full, in-classroom education starting February 16.
On Monday, February 8, the TCU school board approved a learning plan that has all students from pre-kindergarten on up to 12th graders returning to their regular schedules as if it were a normal year, and without a late start.

In conjunction with Walgreens, Traditions of Montgomery hosted its COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic on Wednesday, Jan. 20. A total of 33 residents and 32 essential caregivers received their first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. One of the residents to roll up his sleeve was Arnold “Buck” Zahratka. According to Julie Fessel Resident Services Coordinator, all of the residents but one, was able to receive the vaccine. The second dose of the vaccine will be available in less than 30 days.
