John William Chromy, age 82, of Chevy Chase, Maryland, has concluded a full life of service, countless friendships, and worldwide adventures. John was born in New Prague, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm with his parents, Stanley W. Chromy Sr. and Mary R. (Horejsi) Chromy, and his eight siblings. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduated from New Prague High School in 1960. He attended St. John's University but left in 1963, answering President Kennedy's challenge for young Americans to serve in the newly formed Peace Corps.
Anita Ann York, age 66, of New Prague, died Friday, October 18, 2024. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on May 6, 1958, to parents, Eugene and Gena York. She graduated from Forest Lake High School as Valedictorian in 1976 and attended Lakewood Community College, earning an Associate Degree. She later earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2003. She spent most of her career working at the Controller level, managing teams of accounting staff in the property management industry, retiring in 2017.
Rita Jane Razidlo, loving wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 16, 2024, at Good Samaritan in Waconia, at 84 years old. She was known for her warm heart, her quick smile, and her genuine capacity to make everyone feel valued and heard.

Marian R. Collins, age 89, of Elko New Market, died peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Marian was born on January 28, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, to Michael and Ruth (Hulbert) Fadden. Her family moved to Minnesota when Marian was nine. Harold was born on August 12, 1943, in Litchfield, Minnesota to John and Mabel Louisiana. He was the youngest of three children: sister Donna and his brother Jim. He joined the Air Force and was stationed in Washington state. He married his childhood sweetheart Karen (Ketcham) at the First Baptist Church of Grove City in Grove City, Minnesota.
Kathleen L. “Kathy” Handzlik, age 78, of New Prague, died peacefully at home with her family at her side on Monday, September 30, 2024. Kathy was born on April 15, 1946, in St. Paul, to Joseph and Evelyn (Waldo) Babic. She graduated from Edina High School, earned her B.A.
David Edel had a beautiful soul, and his spirit left a mark on so many people throughout his lifetime. He was born in New Prague on October 9, 1951, to George and Gretchen Edel (maiden name Richter), the youngest of 3 children. He grew up in Montgomery, graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale High School, and attended college at the University of Minnesota. Around 1970, he hitched a ride to San Francisco to pursue his spiritual journey. In California he met Carol Gelband, with whom he would marry and bring two sons into this world.
Donald P. Solberg, Wanamingo, MN. Donald passed away on September 8, 2024. Donald was born April 01, 1930, to Peter O. and Minnie (Satren) Solberg. He grew up in Wanamingo, MN, and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1948, served 4 years in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in July 1952.
During his 42 years in Sales/Marketing in artificial the breeding of livestock industry his work afforded him the opportunity to travel to 49 states, 28 international countries and 6 continents. He retired from CRI-Genex in 1995.

Kathy Beatty passed away at her home in Montgomery, MN, on September 23, 2024, at the age of 86. She was born in McGrath, MN, on July 19, 1938, to Simon & Julia (Bolan) Schwarzbauer. Kathy moved to St. Paul, MN, shortly after her graduation from McGrath High School.
In February 1957, she married Leonard Beatty at Sacred Heart Church in Wahkon, MN & together they raised six children.

Francis Emil “Fritz” Novak, age 95, of New Prague, died peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Monday, September 16, 2024. Fritz was born on July 29, 1929, to Ladislav and Anna (Pavek) Novak on the family farm in Veseli, Minnesota.
