Richard “Rick” Koenig (Jackson), age 60, of Mahnomen, MN, died Thursday, November 2, 2022, under the loving care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Dorthea (Dottie) Anderson, age 81, of Lonsdale, MN, previously of Burnsville and Eagan, MN, entered eternal life on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN, after a 13-year battle with Alzheimer’s.
Dottie was born on March 23, 1941, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Albert Leland and Betty Lee Traylor. Growing up she enjoyed spending time with her large family in Illinois. She was married to her loving husband, Michael Anderson, for 59 years, and together they had two children, Jeff and Jennifer.

Glorene A (Fahrenkamp) Novak, age 88, of Prior Lake, MN, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, in New Prague, MN. 
A Christian Funeral will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 11 am, with a time of gathering from 9-10:45 am, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Fish Lake, 20200 Fairlawn Avenue, Prior Lake, MN. Rev. Dr. Brent L Parrish will preside. Interment immediately after service at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery and lunch to follow. 

Janet A. Busch, age 90, died Tuesday, November 1, 2022, peacefully with her family at her side at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital Rochester.  Janet was born February 14, 1932, in New Prague to Math F. and Catherine H. (Solheid) Pint.  She grew up in the Union Hill area and attended county district school in Union Hill and then New Prague High School.  She married Ambrose H. Busch on July 28, 1951 at St.

Clarence L. Salaba, age 85, of Lonsdale, died suddenly at Hennepin County Medical Center as the result of an accident on the family Century Farm on Friday, October 28, 2022.  Clarence was born on March 31, 1937 in Wheatland Township to Frank E. and Rose (Uhlir) Salaba.  He grew up in the Lonsdale/Veseli area and graduated from New Prague High School.  He met the love of his life, Delores M.

Henry Ezell “EZ” Branham, JR, age 90, transitioned to the final stage of life on August 17, 2022 at Mala Strana care home in New Prague, MN. Born on November 17, 1931 in Ridgeway, SC to Henry Ezell, SR and Lily (Nelson) Branham, he grew up on a cotton farm with his four siblings of which three have preceded him in their home going. Sister Lenora, and brothers Ivey and Donald.

Marilyn Kathryn Green (nee Frolik), age 85, of Elko, MN died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at her home.  Marilyn was born on April 19, 1937 in New Prague to Benjamin R. and Elsie A. (Flicek) Frolik.  She was a 1955 graduate of South High School in Minneapolis and was formerly married to Robert Green. She resided in Minneapolis and Elko New Market most of her adult life and was a beloved long-term executive administrator of the University of Minnesota Laboratory Medicine and Pathology Department. 

Janice Marie (Kidman) Stratton, age 79, of New Prague, Minnesota, passed away peacefully with her husband and children at her side on Monday, October 24, 2022, at her home. She was born on January 8, 1943, to Thomas and Edna (Larson) Kidman in Tyler, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Ellsborough Lutheran Church of rural Balaton. She grew up on the family dairy farm in Ellsborough Township and treasured her childhood there. She attended country school and then graduated from Ruthton High School in 1960.

Francis J. Weiers, age  92, of Union Hill, passed away peacefully at his birth home on October 22, 2022.  Francis was born December 31, 1929 to Henry and Cecelia (Wolf) Weiers.  On August 25, 1956, Francis married Roselyn Michel at St. John’s Catholic Church in Union Hill and made a life on the family farm.
 

John J. “Jocko” Barten, Jr., age 85, of New Prague, passed away peacefully with his son at his side on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Mala Strana Health and Rehabilitation Center.  John was born on November 28, 1936 in New Prague to John J. and Agatha E. (Busch) Barten, Sr. He grew up in New Prague, graduating from New Prague High School and then entered the US Army, serving for several years, much of that time in Alaska.  John was working as a roofer when he met his bride, Dorothy M.

Clara Mae Tiede, age 98 of Lonsdale passed away peacefully at her home at the Villages of Lonsdale on Saturday, October 8, 2022. A celebration of Clara’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Villages of Lonsdale from 6:00PM - 8:00PM.

Rodney L. Busch, age 63, of New Prague, died peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital, Rochester. 

Joan A. Hruby, age 78, of Shakopee, died peacefully with her family at her side at her home on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.  Joan was born on January 31, 1944 in New Prague to Daniel and Ludmilla (Marek) Tikalsky, Sr. She grew up in New Prague, attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School, graduated from New Prague High School, attended two years at Mankato State College, and attended St. Catherine’s College.   Joan married Edward J. Hruby on November 15, 1966 at St.

Rodney Busch, age 63, of New Prague, died Monday, October 10, 2022 at MCHS - St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester.  Services are pending.

On Sunday, October 9, 2022, Richard E. Parks, age 78, of New Prague, died peacefully at his daughter’s home with his family at his side after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Richard was born on February 1, 1944 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Leonard W.

Arnold J. Smisek, age 93, of New Prague, died peacefully with his family at his side at his home on Friday, October 7, 2022.  Arnold was born on September 25, 1929 in Forest Township, Rice County, MN to Edward J. and Julia (Trnka) Smisek.  He graduated from New Prague High School, attended Dunwoody Institute, and then entered the US Navy, where he served as an electrician aboard the USS Currier in the Korean War.  He married Mary M. Maus, the woman who would become his treasured best friend for the rest of his life on June 9, 1956 at Sts.
