Noah Stephens-Brown

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Noah Stephens- Brown on May 6, 2022. This was unexpected and our family is devastated by the loss of our beloved son and brother. After overcoming brain cancer 4½ years ago, Noah died from bacterial meningitis brought on by complications from that brain surgery.

Thomas J. Shriver  - Celebration of Life

Thomas J. Shriver, age 87, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. 
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from noon until 3 p.m. at Richter’s Woods Barn outside of Montgomery.

Mary Lee (Shonka) Berg, 72

Mary Lee (Shonka) Berg, age 72, of New Prague, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at her home.  Mary Lee was born on March 21, 1950 in Minneapolis, MN to Douglas and Alice (Nickel) Shonka.  She graduated from New Prague High School and attended Mankato State College for a short time before finishing her education at a beauty school in Minneapolis.  She worked as a beautician for a number of years.  She met the man who would become her husband at a Sadie Hawkins dance when he came as a member of the rock band that played

Bruce Patrick Reynolds, 82

Bruce Patrick Reynolds, age 82, of Montgomery, formerly of New Prague, died Friday, May 6, 2022, at Traditions of Montgomery.
Bruce was born on June 5, 1939, and adopted as an infant by Elmer P. and Dorothy Reynolds. He attended and graduated from schools in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He served in the United States Army during the early 1960s.
He worked for many years as a bartender in his parents’ bar in New Prague, and later as a maintenance man and overnight staff at Sunrise Farm in Montgomery.

Rose Mary “Mickey” Havlicek, 93

Rose Mary “Mickey” Havlicek, age 93 of Veseli, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2022, with her family by her side.
She was born on February 3, 1929 in Hampton, MN and was married to Ray Havlicek on May 1, 1948. Rose Mary lived most of her life in Veseli, MN with her last three years spent at Traditions of Montgomery.

Francis E. Schoenecker, 73

Francis E. Schoenecker, age 73, of New Prague, formerly of Montgomery, died peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Mala Strana Assisted Living.  Francis was born on July 9, 1948 in New Prague to Erwin H. and Mary E. (Ademmer) Schoenecker.  He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and graduated from Montgomery High School.  He worked for Minnesota Valley Breeders for many years and finished out his career as a machinist for Scott Equipment. 

Armella A. Hartman Hinderscheit, 95

Armella A. Hartman Hinderscheit, age 95, of Montgomery, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side, on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Traditions of Montgomery.  Armella was born on August 20, 1926 in St. Bernard, Nebraska to Anton and Christina (Niebur) Dohmen.  She grew up in St.

Mary Ann Kucera, age 84, of New Prague, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Mala Strana Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Mary Ann was born on October 31, 1937 in New Prague to Frank J. and Anna A. (Lukes) Kuzelka.  A lifelong resident of New Prague, she graduated from New Prague High School and married her devoted partner and sweetheart, Francis C. “Fritz” Kucera on September 14, 1957 at St.

Tami M. ”Tootie” Elstad, 56

Tami M. ”Tootie” Elstad, age 56 of Backus, formerly of New Prague, was called home to the house of our Lord on April 19, 2022, dying suddenly from a heart attack. Tami was always full of life and definitely kept the party going.
 Tami was born on August 14, 1965 to Leo and Marilyn (Pavek) Odenthal at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague. Tami is the fourth of five children and is so very much loved by her siblings Bev, Bonnie, Brenda and Terry.

Charles H. Erickson, 83

Charles H. Erickson, age 83, of New Prague, Minnesota passed away peacefully on April 20, 2022.  Charles was born to Andrew and Lilly (Batchelder) Erickson on December 11, 1938 in Colfax, WI.
