Brian Lee Efta, 64

Brian Lee Efta, 64, of Jordan, passed away surrounded by family on September 25, 2023 after dealing with years of failing health. 
Brian was born on December 21, 1958 in Shakopee, MN to Jerry and Joan Efta. He grew up in St. Patrick and attended New Prague Area Schools. 
Brian worked doing masonry and asphalt. He eventually obtained a CDL license and drove different types of trucks. 
Throughout his life, Brian enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers as well as spending time at the family cabin.

Joan Monica (Simon) Zuk, 90

Joan Monica (Simon) Zuk, age 90, of Fridley, MN, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023 at home with family. Joan was born December 31, 1932. Joan grew up in New Prague, MN, went to nursing school at St. Mary's Hospital and graduated in 1953. She married Carl Zuk in 1958 (65 years!) She was a devout Catholic and a member of the Church of St. William in Fridley for 60 years. She was a woman of immense love, compassion and faith leaving behind a legacy that will be forever cherished by all of us who knew her.

Glen J. Schoenbauer, 86

Glen J. Schoenbauer, age 86, of New Prague, died peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his home.  Glen was born on April 25, 1937, on the family farm in Helena Township to Joseph B. and Rose L. (Tuma) Schoenbauer.  He graduated from St. Wenceslaus Parochial School and New Prague High School and entered the US Army, where he served for 2 years.  Glen met Margaret M. Kes at a Halloween dance and the two were married on August 19, 1961 at St.

Charles E. "Chuck" Slavik, 82

Charles E. "Chuck" Slavik, age 82, of Tucson, AZ, and formerly of New Prague, died peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023.  Chuck was born May 17, 1941, in Saint Paul, MN to Stanley and Catherine “Kay” (Schloesser) Slavik.
Chuck graduated from New Prague High School and soon after entered the US Army, where he trained as a military vehicle mechanic.  After being Honorably Discharged, he began working at Continental Machines in Savage, MN, where he worked as a hydraulic mechanic for nearly 40 years. 

Angela Mary "Rainbow Woman" Brewer, 67

Angela Mary Brewer, "Rainbow Woman", age 67, of Jordan, MN, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Angela was born in Shakopee, MN, on July 24, 1956, the daughter of Richard "Butch" and Carol (Wermerskirchen) Majerus. She was very loving, caring and always helped others. Angela prepared the best food, had the best parties, and she liked dancing. Although she was stern at times, she was very gentle, very organized and nonjudgmental.

Nellie Elizabeth Molitor, 44

Nellie Elizabeth Molitor, age 44, of New Prague, died suddenly due to cancer complications on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.            
She was born May 6, 1979, and is survived by parents Joe and Tina Molitor of Elko New Market, Minn.
Nellie graduated from New Prague High School in 1997 and the Minneapolis Business College of Roseville. 

Michael J. Liepold, 61

Michael J. Liepold, age 61, died peacefully with his family at his side as a result of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease at Praha Village Monday, Sept. 18, 2023. Mike was born March 20, 1962, in Heron Lake, Minn. to Marvin and Anne (Lusk) Liepold.

Viola Adeline Buske, 84

Viola Adeline Buske, age 84, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, at Villages of Lonsdale.
She was born Oct. 1, 1938 in Echo, Minn.. Vi was the third of five children born to Harold and Augusta (Hartke) Marquardt. Viola enjoyed many things in life including gardening, all her pets, spending time dancing with her husband and reminiscing with family and friends. Many things of importance, but nothing compares to what she enjoyed the most, spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
