Ilo V. Hinze, age 95 of Prior Lake, formerly of New Prague and New Ulm, passed away on August 4, 2019.

Margaret Jane Koenig-Peterson, age 63, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.  Margaret was born on May 6, 1956 and was adopted lovingly by Joseph J. and Marcella J.

William T. Dietz, age 71, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis following an extended illness, surrounded by his family.
Memorial visitation to celebrate Bill and share stories will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave N., Faribault, Minnesota. A short blessing will be at 2:00 p.m., followed by a social until approximately 5 p.m.

One run was enough for the New Market Muskies as they defeated the Luverne Redbirds 1-0 in a second round game at the State Class C tournament in Maple Lake Sunday, Aug. 25.
Kyle Bergstrom got a leadoff single in the bottom of the eighth and Nick Rost sacrificed pinch runner Justin Firpo to second. Brett Herber connected with a base hit that scored Firpo just ahead of the throw to give the Muskies a 1-0 lead.
Tony Vocca pitched seven shutout innings for New Market. Matt Lane,draftee from Faribault, pitched the final two innings and got the win.

Since June 26 Elizabeth Sammons of Lonsdale has been waiting at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for a heart so she can have a transplant operation. For Elizabeth this is her second heart transplant, plus she needs a kidney.

Catherine Herrmann (Rathmanner) left this world peacefully on August 22, 2019, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 26, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Father Tom officiating. Private family interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Zachary Pumper “Zac” age 34 of Savage, formerly of New Prague passed away unexpectedly in a construction accident on August 19, 2019. Zac was a graduate of New Prague High School, and was working with Adolfson and Peterson Construction Company. He is survived by his loving wife Nicole, children Jameson Theodore and Paisley Grace Pumper; parents, Loren and Mary Pumper; brother Kirby (Larry) and sister, Andrea pumper. Father-in-law Roy Zimmer; Mother-in-law Kelly Zimmer; Sister-in-law Brittany Zimmer and nephew Kilian.

The Prior Lake Mudcats were the only one of three Dakota-Rice-Scott League teams to win their first-round game at the Minnesota Class C Amateur Baseball Tournament over opening weekend.
The Mudcats claimed a 4-1 win over Foley to advance to the tournament’s second round.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick’s bats were silenced in a 4-0 loss to Cold Spring and St. Benedict lost a heart-breaker on a walk-off home run in a 3-2 loss to Waterville.

The City of New Prague announced today (Friday) that the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Seventh Street NE (formerly CSAH 37) will reopen sometime today.
This means that both this roundabout and the one at Columbus Avenue and 12th Street NE/County Road 15 will be open for the start of school on Monday, Aug. 26. 

Pumper, Julitta, age 84 of Lonsdale, passed away August 18, 2019. Preceded in death by her husband, Marvin and siblings, Vince and Ginny.

Ronald John Tupy, age 70 of Montgomery died peacefully Sunday morning, August 18th, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in St. Paul Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 23rd at Holy Redeemer Church, 206 Vine Ave. W., Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22nd from 4pm-8pm at the White Funeral Home in Lonsdale and will continue one hour prior to the funeral, at Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery. Private family interment will be at a later date at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery.

Dale R Dickie, 90, of Crosslake, passed away peacefully at his home Friday Aug. 16, 2019 surrounded by family and loved ones.  Dale’s memorial service will be held at Crosslake Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 11am with Pastor Kristin Oltmann officiating. Crosslake American Legion Post 500 will be providing military honors after the service. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to the service.

The games area at the Veseli Ho-Down was busy on Sunday, Aug. 18, as children were able to win an assortment of prizes. Hosted by Most Holy Trinity Parish, the 52nd annual festival also had food, selling out of its pork and dumpling meals, plus grilled burgers. The St. Patrick Irish dropped its first round game at the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Class C Tournament, losing 4-0 to the Cold Spring Rockies Friday, Aug. 16, at Delano.
St. Patrick managed just two hits, by Matt Ambroz and Seth Ambroz, and couldn’t put anything together against Cold Spring’s Ryan Hennen. Hennen struck out 10 and hit one batter. Another batter reached on an error.
The Irish had their best opportunity in the bottom of the fourth, with runners on first and second and one out. However a strike out and a runner caught stealing third ended the threat.
