Bernard (Bernie) Roman Tupy, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2024, in Montgomery, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 28, at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9-11 a.m. all held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 206 Vine Avenue West, Montgomery, MN. Following the service, Bernie will be laid to rest at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Lonsdale. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials are preferred. Reception to be held at The Revival on Main in Montgomery right after funeral.

Carol J. Gieseke, age 93, of New Ulm, died Friday, May 10, 2024, at Woodstone Senior Living in New Ulm.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, New Ulm, with Pastor Nathan Scharf officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow the service.

Sandra Marie Vlasak, age 64, of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Mayo Hospital Mankato. Private family services will be held. The family would like to extend a huge thank you for the incredible care she received from Mayo staff.

Mavor Lee Barnett, age 90, of Kilkenny, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at her home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Visitation will continue Thursday, May 9 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery in rural Montgomery.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Sandra (Jakes) Sticha on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 1 – 3 p.m at the Happy Hour Bar in Montgomery.

Lloyd Carl Svoboda, age 85, of rural New Prague, left the loving arms of his family to join God in eternal life on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Central Healthcare of Le Center.

Inez Dorothy (Lansing) Nutt, 87, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away on April 23, 2024, at Four Winds Manor with loving family by her side.  Beloved wife of 63 years to Charles H. Nutt.  Loving mother to her six children, William, Kathryn, Ann, James, Teresa, and Mary. Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to many dear grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Donald (Don) J. Smisek Sr, age 83, of Lonsdale, MN, passed away peacefully at Lakeville BeeHive Homes on April 17, 2024, with family by his side.  He fought a long and courageous battle with dementia. Don is preceded in death by sons Tommy and Dennis, and parents Joe B. and Helen Smisek. Don was born June 2, 1940, on a family farm in Webster Township. He attended Lonsdale Catholic School through 8th grade and graduated from New Prague High School in 1959. He served in the US Marine Corps for 4 years.
