The Dakota Rice Scott Baseball League has announced its All-Star Game Roster.
The DRS team will face off against the River Valley League All-Stars at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14. at Fairfax.
The two leagues have met annually since 2007 for an All-Star game. The RVL has a 7-3 advantage, with one rain out (2008). The RVL won last year’s contest, 7-6.
DRS Team members chosen by league managers are:
Elko Express - TJ Evanson, Grant Gunderson, Dylan Thomas
Faribault Lakers - Egan Bonde and player TBA
Lonsdale Aces - Thomas Hoppert
New Market became the first Dakota-Rice-Scott League team to clinch a firstround playoff bye with a pair of wins, and the rest of the league battled to keep pace as the regular season winds down.
There are three weekends remaining in the season, which concludes July 22. Four league teams will get byes into the Region 3C tournament, while the eight remaining teams will play for the final four spots.
The New Market Muskies continued to roll through the competition, winning four games in decisive fashion in Dakota-Rice-Scott League play. The Muskies are now 15- 1 in the league and have a 3- 1/2 game lead over second place St. Patrick, which won twice. Faribault also had a pair of wins last week and are in third place. New Prague drops to fourth, losing their only game of the week in extra innings. The Orioles did take second in the Green Isle-Hamburg Tournament over the weekend, while Elko won three games to take the championship in Hinckley.
New Market continues to roll in DRS League play, as they sit alone at the top of the League standings. They are winners of 8-straight League games, and beat second place St. Patrick this past week to take a 2 game lead in the standings.
A bit of parity within the League exists, as at week’s end, no team (other than New Market) has a winning or losing streak longer than 2 games.
Game results
A group of trap shooters from Tri-City United High School are making their way back to the state tournament to be held on Friday, June 22 at the Minneapolis Gun Club.
The team of Wyatt Hurd, Benjamin Sladek, Grant Fogarty, Wyley Petersen, and James Krautkremer made the tournament after placing in the top 40 teams overall. Their scores were determined from the Alexandria Championship from June 11 to 19. Overall season averages were used as tie breakers.
New Market defeated Prior Lake and Lonsdale to take over first place in the Dakota- Rice-Scott League last week. The Muskies have a 9-1 record and hold a one-game lead over second place St. Patrick.
It was a light week for the DRS, with several teams competing in weekend tournaments and other games rained out.

New Prague won three games last week to move up in the Dakota-Rice-Scott League standings last week, while Webster won back-toback games for the first time in three years and moved out of the D-R-S cellar. Faribault also won a pair of games to move to .500 on the young season. New Market and Elko hosted a tournament and did not play any league games. New Market remains in first place with a 7-1 record, while St. Patrick dropped a halfgame back after losing to Prior Lake.

The New Prague Trojan adapted softball team lost both of their games at the State CI Adapted Softball Tournament June 1 and 2 at Coon Rapids High School.
The Trojans lost to two of their Southern Division opponents, Chaska/Chanhassen/ Prior Lake/Shakopee and Burnsville/Farmington/Lake ville. The Chaska team went on to the championship game, losing in eight innings to St. Cloud, while the Burnsville team defeated South Suburban for the Consolation championship.
The New Prague team also included players from Tri- City United, Belle Plaine and Jordan schools.

The Tri-City United Titans suffered a shutout loss to Belle Plaine on Thursday, May 31 in the Section 2AA Tournament.
According to Coach Bruce Davis, his team started out trailing and couldn’t catch up.
“We watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-0 loss,” he said.
Belle Plaine started out the scoring on a double by Andrew Hunsader and a single by Garrett Boblitt in the first inning.
Over the course of two days due to rain, the Tri-City United Titan Baseball Team defeated Maple River to advance in the Section 2AA Tournament on Wednesday, May 30.

Maple River got off to a start in the 2nd inning on a sacrifice fly.
According to Coach Bruce Davis, the Titans were on the heels of the Eagles, answering each run with one of their own.
After a busy Memorial Day weekend, the New Market Muskies and St. Patrick Irish are tied at the top of the DRS standings, both with 7-1 records.
The Muskies upped their win total with wins over Webster and arch-rival Elko, while St. Patrick defeated Lonsdale and St. Benedict before taking their first loss at the hands of Veseli.
Two games were rained out Monday afternoon, Shakopee at New Prague and Montgomery at St. Benedict. Makeup dates have not been announced.

The New Prague Trojan Adapted softball team went on the road for their state play-in game and came home with an exciting 10-5 win over host Anoka-Hennepin. The game was played at the Andover YMCA gym.
The win puts New Prague in the State CI Adapted softball tournament, which will be held Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2, at Coon Rapids High School. This is New Prague's fifth trip to state, but the first trip since 2011.
The New Prague Adapted Softball team defeated Anoka-Hennepin 10-5 Thursday, May 24, to qualify for the State CI Adapted Softball Tournament, which will be held June 1 and 2 at Coon Rapids High School.
The TCU softball team is advancing in the Section 2AA playoffs, thanks to a double elimination round. In the first bracket, the Titans (#10 seed) beat Maple River (#7 seed) 1-0 on May 22. They faced Jordan (#2 seed) on May 24 and lost 1-5, but thanks to a double elimination, the Titans will play again on Saturday, May 26 at Caswell Park in North Mankato.
They will play the loser of the game between Le Sueur-Henderson and Belle Plaine. That game was started on Thursday, but stopped due to rain. It will be finished on Friday, May 25 at 4:30 p.m.
Titan Coach Bruce Davis said the Titans’ 9-1 win over the Sibley East Wolverines on Thursday in Montgomery was a great way to start the Section 2AA playoffs.
“It was an excellent all around baseball game for TCU. The kids came focused and ready to play,” he said.
The Titans move on to play Maple River at Memorial Park in Montgomery on Tuesday, May 29 at 5 p.m.
The St. Patrick Irish stand alone atop the Dakota-Rice- Scott baseball standings with a 5-0 record. The Irish defeated Webster twice in the past week to keep their record perfect. New Market and Shakopee are one-half game back in the standings at 5-1.
The season heats up this weekend, with six games scheduled for Sunday and five more on Monday during the Memorial Day holiday.
