Dr. James Patrick O’Reilly, age 66 of Belle Plaine, passed away on June 16, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.  Memorial service will be at 11a.m. on Friday, June 22 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine.  Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Thursday at the Kolden Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service on Friday morning.  A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the Vet’s Club. 

Father Francis J. Roach entered eternal life on June 14, 2018 at the age of 89.  
 

Inez C. Jirik (Tupa), age 92 of Lonsdale passed away June 15, 2018 at the Villages of Lonsdale. She was born on the family farm in Websterl MN to John and Katherine Tupa (Sirek) on February 27, 1926. She married George Jirik in Hazelwood, on November 10, 1951.

Bigley, Shirley Ann, of New Prague, passed away peacefully at home on June 10th, 2018 at the age of 71.  Born Oct. 23, 1946. Shirley loved planting her gardens and plotting where to put way too many flowers each spring.  She enjoyed watching birds, especially Eagles. Shirley loved watching the Mn Vikings play and yell at the tv when they didn’t play well.

Thomas A. Illg, age 72, of New Prague, died suddenly at his home on Thursday, June 7, 2018.  Tom was born on July 5, 1945 in Slayton, MN to Adolph N. and Evelyn R. (Giefer) Illg.  He was raised on a farm in Ellsborough Township, graduated from Ruthton High School, and attended Granite Falls Vocational School, where he earned his degree in hydraulics.  Tom served with the US Army National Guard during the Vietnam era.  On December 16, 1972, he married Charlotte A.

Barbara L. Hennes, age 70, of New Prague, died suddenly in her sleep at her home on Thursday, June 7, 2018.  Barbara was born April 13, 1948 in St. Paul, MN and was adopted into her loving home by Mathias and Lucille (Hentges) Kreuser.  She attended parochial school in Marystown and graduated from Guardian Angels High School.  She married Gerald E.

Francis Theodore “Grundy” Grundhoffer, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his home in Rapid City. 

Oliver P. Busch, age 86, of New Prague, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Friday, May 25, 2018.  Oliver was born on August 7, 1931, in St. Benedict, MN to Florian and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Busch. He attended St. Benedict School and spent most of his life in the St. Benedict area. He entered the US Army in 1952, serving in the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1954. He married the love of his life, Louise A. Pieper, on June 20, 1956, at St. Mary’s Church in Marystown, MN. Together they raised their seven children on the Busch family farm in St. Benedict.

Sheila “Susie” Stanton, age 64, of Northfield, passed away on May 24, 2018. Sheila was an avid gardener and was instrumental in starting many farmers markets. She is preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Donna Fredrickson. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Kristine (Jesse) Flies, Shawn (Cindy) Wierson, Craig (Leanna) Wierson, and Megan Stanton (significant other, Casey Fettig); 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Keith, Terry (Debbie), Connie (Curt) Grisim, and Brad and Brian Fredrickson; many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Agnes L. (Witt) Salverson “Aggie”, 81 of Mobridge, S. Dakota, was called home March 4.
Survived by her nieces Therese (Dean) Wolfgram of Cottage Grove, MN; Bonnie (Kevin) White of Bricelyn, MN; nephew Joe (Kelly Raatz) Witt of Shakopee, MN; 2 great nephews, Jonathan and Connor Wolfgram of Cottage Grove, MN; 2 great nieces Marie and Julia Witt of Shakopee, MN and sister-in-law Penny Witt of Shakopee, MN.
Preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Mary Witt; brother William Witt and husband Richard Salverson.

At age 70, Carol Sirek of Webster, MN, died May 20, 2018 at her home. Carol was born July 24, 1947 in Brookings, SD.  She was the daughter of Vernon and Anna (Eikum) Seas. She graduated from Northfield High School in 1965, later meeting Duane after his service with the United States Army.  Preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Anna Seas; brother, Dennis Seas, and father-in-law, John F. Sirek.

Deborah A. Bolanda, age 68, died suddenly on Sunday, May 20, 2018, with her husband at her side at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.  Deb was born on August 3, 1949 in New Prague to Harley H. and Hildegaard I.C. (Tietz) Meyer.  She attended County District 61 Elementary School, graduated from New Prague High School, and earned her LPN degree at Miller Hospital School of Nursing.  She started out working at Queen of Peace Hospital and then went to Methodist Hospital in St.

Margaret Rose (Toth) Mantick, age 83, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.  “Margie” was born on May 11, 1935 in Wausau, WI and lived in Glandon on the family Farm. She was the youngest of 12 children.  She was the only child of the family born in the hospital as a “change of life baby”.   Her parents, Joseph and Rose (Korka) Toth came to America from Hungary, looking for a better life, and built up a family farm from scratch on 180 acres of land in Glandon, WI that became 1 of 4 outstanding farms in the town of Hewitt.

Flavian H. Weiers, age 91, of Union Hill, died peacefully on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at his home. He was born May 12, 1927, in Derrynane Township, Le Sueur County to Henry E. and Cecelia A. (Wolf) Weiers. He attended school at Union Hill and entered the US Army in 1950, was discharged in 1952, and then served in the Army Reserves until 1956. Flavian married Edna L. Barten on June 11, 1955 at St. John’s Catholic Church and the couple made their home in rural Union Hill.

Jim (Booger) Vanasek, Age 82 of Sun City, California, passed away on May 12th from ongoing heart related problems.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Ella (Prochaska).  Jim was born in New Prague on February 22nd, 1936.  He graduated from New Prague High School & Gustavus Adolphus College.  He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Ft. Riley, Kansas and Ft. Gordon, Georgia.  Jim was an accountant and bookkeeper in Minnesota before he escaped to the warmer climate in Southern California in the early 1970s.
