This time, no Hail Mary!
Two weeks ago, the New Prague Trojans scored to take the lead with 15 seconds left in the game… and lost to Mankato West on a last-second Hail Mary pass.
Friday night, Oct. 4, at Trojan Stadium, the Trojans scored another late touchdown - this one with seven seconds left on the clock. Coaches and players reminded each other that the game was not over, and after the kickoff, Rochester Century and one last chance, but this time the pass fell incomplete and New Prague claimed a 26-20 Homecoming win.

The New Prague Trojan girls cross country team finished third of nine teams at the New Prague Invitational, held at the New Prague Golf Club Tuesday, Sept. 24.
Lakeville South and Red Wing tied for the top spot with 31 points each. South won the team title on a tie-breaker, with their sixth finisher placing 45th overall. New Prague had 67, with the rest of the field including Le Sueur- Henderson (107), Tri-City United (147), Sibley East (156) and Norwood- Young America (187). Cannon Falls and Holy Family Catholic did not field complete teams.

The New Prague Trojan boys soccer team bounced back from a pair of tough losses last week to defeat Delano 1-0 Monday, Sept. 30, in a Wright County Conference game.
The Trojans lost to Mayer Lutheran 3-0 on Monday, Sept. 23, and to Rockford 3- 1 on Thursday, Sept. 26.
"We lost both games that we should have won in my opinion. That’s all I want to say about those two games," said Coach Gospel Kordah.

The New Prague Trojan volleyball team won a pair of Wright County Conference matches last week, sweeping Waconia and Holy Family Catholic.
The Trojans also defeated Jordan on Monday, Sept. 30. Details on that match will be in next week’s issue.
New Prague was scheduled to host Bloomington Jefferson onTuesday, Oct. 1, and will travel to Hutchinson Thursday, Oct. 3. They will host Orono on Monday, Oct. 7.
Trojans 3, Wildcats 0 New Prague swept a strong Waconia team to claim a WCC East win on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The New Prague Trojan girls tennis team's playoff match against Mankato West scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 1, has been postponed.
The first round match in the Section 2AA playoffs will be played Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Swanson Tennis Center at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
New Prague is the No. 6 seed in the South Sub-section, while West is seeded No. 3. There are nine teams in the South Sub-section.
The winner will advance to the second round of the section playoffs Thursday, Oct. 3.

A kickoff return by Nathan Osborne and a fumble recovery and return by Will Busch gave the New Prague Trojans a 14-0 lead before they had even run an offensive play in their Big Southeast District game at Rochester John Marshall Friday, Sept. 27.

The New Prague Trojan girls soccer team split a pair of Wright County Conference matches last week, defeating Glencoe-Silver Lake 5-0, and losing to Waconia 1- 0.
The Trojans were scheduled to face Watertown- Mayer Tuesday, Sept. 24. They host Rockford Thursday, Sept. 26, and will play at Delano Monday, Sept. 30. Their match against Lakeville South scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, has been moved to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2. The Trojans close their regular season Thursday, Oct. 3, when they host Hutchinson.

The New Prague Trojan boys cross country meet had two good showings last week. On Tuesday, Sept. 17, they competed at the Waconia meet, placing fifth of 15 teams, and on Saturday, Sept. 21, they competed in the Milaca Mega meet, placing 16th of 29 teams in Division 4, for the largest schools.
Waconia meet New Prague finished with 147 points, placing fifth behind first placee Buffalo, with 44, Mankato East with 64, Chanhassen with 96 and Delano with 131.

The New Prague Trojan girls swim and dive team hosted Waconia on Thursday, Sept. 19. The Trojans swam well, but lost to a strong Wildcat squad by a 109-77 score.
"It was a great meet. We really challenged a top team," Coach Cassie Jung said.
"The Wright County Conference is a tough one, but the girls are exceeding all expectations and swimming so well this season."

The New Prague Trojans had a win within their grasp Friday, Sept. 20, scoring a go-ahead touchdown with 15 seconds left in the game.
But Mankato West heaved a 54-yard Hail Mary pass inside the five yard line, and Spencer Spaude grabbed onto the ball and slipped into the end zone as time expired to give the Scarlets, ranked No. 10 in Class AAAAA, a 40-35 win at Trojan Field.
It was the Trojans’ third straight game against a ranked team.

The New Prague Trojan boys soccer team won two of three matches last week, defeating Mound Westonka and Rochester Century. The Trojans also lost to Holy Family Catholic. 
New Prague lost to Chaska 7-2 on Monday, Sept. 16. Details of that game will be in next week’s issue. 
The Trojans return to action Thursday, Sept. 19, when they host Waconia at 5 p.m. They play Mayer Lutheran at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Watertown-Mayer HS, and will host Rockford on Thursday, Sept. 26.

The New Prague Trojan girls tennis team lost two matches last week, to Orono and Mankato East. 

The New Prague Trojan volleyball team swept Mankato East on Tuesday,Sept. 10, winning 25-13, 25-13, 25-18.
"It was a good night forTrojan volleyball, with New Prague sweeping at all levelsof play," Coach Angie Andersen said.

The New Prague Trojans played one of their best matches of the season Thursday, Sept. 5, but came up short in a 1-0 loss to state power Orono. They rebounded with a 3-1 win over Section 1AA rival Rochester Mayo.

The New Prague Trojan girls tennis team split a pair of dual meets last week, losing to Chanhassen and defeating Holy Family Catholic. The team placed fourth at the Brainerd Invitational Saturday, Sept. 7.
New Prague’s meet with Mankato East on Monday, Sept. 9, was postponed due to rain. The Trojans were scheduled to compete at Orono Tuesday, Sept. 10, then host Delano Tuesday, Sept. 17. New Prague faces Hutchinson at home on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The New Prague Trojan girls swim and dive team defeated Litchfield 60-40 Thursday, Sept. 5, to go to 2- 1 on the season (1-1 Wright County Conference). They also placed third at the Blomington Kennedy Invitational Saturday, Sept. 7. New Prague will host Dassel Cokato Thursday, Sept. 12, and Waconia on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Trojans 60, Dragons 40 New Prague placed 1-2 in two individual events, Ella Lund won the 200 freestyle and Julia Basset was second in a personal best time of 2:24.52, while in the 200 individual medley, Payten Schieffer and Riley Siegle took the top two spots.
